Education is a vital part of Wichita Falls Animal Services' mission to promote responsible pet ownership and protect both domestic animals and local wildlife. Understanding proper pet care—including nutrition, vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and behavioral needs—helps reduce overpopulation, prevent disease, and improve the overall health and well-being of companion animals.
Additionally, learning how to coexist safely with native wildlife helps protect ecosystems and prevent unnecessary human-animal conflicts. We encourage the community to explore trusted resources such as the American Veterinary Medical Association, and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for information on pet health, animal safety, and wildlife education. Animal Services offers classes in responsible pet ownership, as well as information on Feral Cats, rabies prevention and the important of microchipping.
Through ongoing learning, we can all contribute to a safer, healthier environment for animals and humans alike.
