The City of Wichita Falls Office of Emergency Preparedness has teamed up with ReadyAmerica to provide a semi-complete preparedness backpack for our citizens. First, purchase your Ready Wichita Falls Backpack. Second, once a decent amount of bags have been ordered, they will be shipped to Fire Station One, and you will be notified when you can pick them up.
Basic Disaster Supplies Kit
To assemble your kit, store items in airtight plastic bags and put your entire disaster supplies kit in one or two easy-to-carry containers such as plastic bins or a duffel bag.
Download a printable version to take with you to the store. Once you take a look at the basic items, consider what unique needs your family might have, such as supplies for pets or seniors. |
A basic emergency supply kit could include the following recommended items:
Food & Water | |
Water (one gallon per person per day for several days for drinking and sanitation). | |
Food (at least a 3-day supply of non-perishable food). | |
Hand-operator can opener. | |
Plastic plates, cups, and utensils | |
Baby Items (baby food, formula, bottles, diapers) | |
