Shelby Antunez is the Legal Assistant to the Municipal Prosecutor. She joined the City Attorney’s Office in October 2024. Shelby is an experienced professional with a diverse background in customer service, medical office management, financial services, and sales.
As the prosecutor’s legal assistant, Shelby plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation of the prosecutor's office and effective case management. Shelby is the liaison between the prosecutor’s office and defendants, law enforcement, and attorneys. Shelby answers and directs all phone calls and responds to inquiries from defendants, attorneys, and court staff. She maintains and organizes both physical and electronic files with confidentiality. She manages the prosecutor’s calendar, keeping the attorney informed of court dates, appointments, and meetings with defense attorneys and defendants. She enters and maintains case information using the municipal court’s database. She also prepares and proofreads legal documents, assembles discovery packets, and ensures timely and accurate filing of documents. Additionally, she coordinates and communicates regularly with the municipal court clerks, the judge, and staff.
A graduate of Vernon College with an Associate Degree in Applied Science, Shelby brings a meticulous, organized, and client-focused approach to her work.
