  1. Citizen's Fire Academy

    September 10, 2019, 6:00 PM - October 22, 2019, 9:00 PM @ Public Safety Training Center and the WF Fire Drill Field.

    The WFFD is now taking applications for their Citizen's Fire Academy. This will be a 7-week academy meeting on Tuesday evenings from 6 pm - 9 pm. The dates of the academy are September 10th thru October 22nd with Graduation on Saturday, October 26th. This will be a hands-on and classroom firefighter experience. Participants will learn the entire history of the WFFD from its inception to the present time. Classes will be at the Public Safety Training Center and the WF Fire Drill Field. Dinner will be provided on the first meeting night and on Graduation. Snacks and water will be provided on the other nights.

  3. Kemp-Monroe Phase II Drainage Project Construction Area

    September 30, 2019, 8:00 AM - November 30, 2019, 10:00 PM @ Kemp Boulevard

    As part of the Kemp-Monroe Drainage Project Phase II, a new underground drainage system is being installed. This will require the contractor to divert traffic to one side of Kemp Blvd between Ave H and Ave J. One lane of traffic Northbound and one lane of traffic Southbound will be open through the construction area. The diversion of traffic on Kemp Blvd will begin Monday, September 30th and last for two months, weather permitting. Please drive slowly and use caution when traveling in this area.

  5. 2019 Wind Up for Down Syndrome

    October 12, 2019, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ City of Wichita Falls-Parks and Recreation, Softball Complex

    Join The Upside for the second annual Wind Up for Down Syndrome co-ed softball tournament! The Special Olympics will play an exhibition game at 9 a.m. Saturday followed by the brackets beginning at 10 a.m. Registration for 10 player teams is $150 with home runs available for a donation. Champs receive event t-shirts and half-off their registration for next year's tournament. Runners-up receive t-shirts. *Amount of teams will determine if play continues on Sunday.
