    Each year The Kemp collaborates with the talented Wichita Falls High School Art Department to exhibit a selection of works from both students and teachers. The department teachers are dedicated to directing and focusing the efforts of their students, encouraging them to push boundaries of both skills and concept.

  2. New Gallery Exhibit at The Forum: "Abstract Nature" by Danielle Janecek

    The latest exhibit at the Galleria at the Forum highlights the abstract expressionist work of local artist Danielle Janecek. Growing up in rural Texas immersed the artist in appreciation for the natural world which continues to this day. Working with mixed media to find the abstraction of her observations, she builds images in layers organically to find the final visual statement in each piece.

  4. Christmas Tree Disposal

    December 26, 2018, 8:00 AM - January 15, 2019, 6:00 PM @ City Transfer Station and City Land Fill.

    Only real trees that have been completely stripped of the tree stand, all decorations, and lights will be accepted. No artificial trees will be accepted. The trees that are dropped off will be ground up and used as mulch throughout the City parks. Two locations City Transfer Stations, 3200 Lawrence Road, M-F 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, Sat 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, City Landfill, 10984 Wiley Road- Open M-Sat 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

  5. Very Sherry New Year

    December 31, 2018, 7:30 PM - January 1, 2019, 1:30 PM @ Backdoor Theatre.

    Celebrating the past year and welcoming in a new, Backdoor Theatre brings to you A Very Sherry New Year! The evening will include dinner and one final performance of their holiday show, "White Christmas", followed by a comedic variety act and a musical cavalcade of hits from the "Great American Songbook of Standards." They will be featuring some of Backdoor's prominent belters, crooners, canaries, and other stage sweethearts. Ring in 2019 with a champagne toast at midnight along with black-eyed peas and cornbread to bring in some luck for the new year to come. Doors open at 7:30 pm with dinner service to begin shortly after; "White Christmas" will begin at 8:30 pm.

  7. VITA Tax Training for Tax Year 2018

    January 1, 2019, 9:00 AM - 8:30 PM @ Directly Behind the Boys & Girls Club

    VITA is the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program that has provided free tax preparation to households at or below $64,000 this volunteer staff was able to assist over 3, 500 people last year. If you want to learn a new life skill, boost your resume, keep your mind sharp, and/or get all volunteer hours you need/want they will have 6 sessions to choose from but you must attend ALL the classes provided in that session.
