The Wichita Falls Public Library is still seeking original artwork from all local artist to celebrate their 100-year anniversary. To be eligible you must be 14 years of age and older, original paintings, drawings, photographs and mixed media on canvas will be accepted. Artwork must be able to be hung on a wall and must not exceed 24 inches by 36 inches. Submission Deadline is October 15, 2018.

Every October, in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, First Step Inc. host a Candlelight Vigil. The purpose of the Vigil is to remember those who have passed away as a result of domestic violence and to honor the survivors who still struggle as a daily result. Mineral Wells Photographers Dee Elliot focuses her work on the things she's loved since childhood: ranching, horses, cattle, and the natural world. Her current exhibit in the What's Up Downstairs? Gallery at the Kemp brings to life her background in horse training while highlighting her joy in observing nature, particularly birds and plant life. With over 50 photographs on view, this exhibit is rich in imagery, detail and color.
Now showing in the West End Studio: Artist Sally Struck's history in quilting is apparent in her new exhibit, "Just My Imagination". These small-scale collages and mixed media pieces are informed by the precise geometry and color manipulation of patchwork quilting, as well as a joy in sewing. The exhibit is open and free to the public during all Kemp Center business hours.
