ElectriCritters, River Bend Nature Center's annual lighted Christmas display will be open every Friday and Saturday (Closed for November 17th). With the flip of a switch, more than 60,000 lights on more than 155 lighted displays will glitter and sparkle, bringing the sights and sounds of the season to adults and children. Santa, Mrs. Clause, and the Butterfly Queen will make an appearance each night. After exploring the lighted grounds come on into the Candy Cane Cafe and enjoy hot chocolate and apple cider, feast on hot cookies and popcorn, and shop for holiday gifts and stocking stuffers. River Bend is a stroller and wheelchair accessible. ElectriCritters is the major fundraiser for River Bend Nature Center. Proceeds help fund education programs enjoyed by over 44,000 children and adults of our community each year.

VITA is the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program that has provided free tax preparation to households at or below $64,000 this volunteer staff was able to assist over 3, 500 people last year. If you want to learn a new life skill, boost your resume, keep your mind sharp, and/or get all volunteer hours you need/want they will have 6 sessions to choose from but you must attend ALL the classes provided in that session. NAMI Homefront is a six-session educational program for families, caregivers and friends of Military Service Members and Veterans with mental health conditions. Although this course is free, it is expected that you attend all six sessions. NAMI Homefront is designed to address the unique needs of family, caregivers, and friends of those who have served or are currently serving our country. The program is taught by trained family members of service members/veterans living with mental health conditions.
