    The Wichita Falls Public Library is still seeking original artwork from all local artist to celebrate their 100-year anniversary. To be eligible you must be 14 years of age and older, original paintings, drawings, photographs and mixed media on canvas will be accepted. Artwork must be able to be hung on a wall and must not exceed 24 inches by 36 inches. Submission Deadline is October 15, 2018.

    Larsonfest is first and foremost in remembrance of our dear friend Donald Larson. He was always out at every gig supporting all the bands playing on any given night. Don was also very active in the community and made everyone around him smile. All of us want to honor his very loyal support by throwing the first, of many, festivals in his namesake. Larsonfest is also geared towards helping a local cause that was dear to Don's heart and that is CASA of Red River. for more info. All bands/sound guys/stagehands are all doing this out of their love for Don and to do something great for the kids that really need the help they so often do not receive.

  6. 2018 Fall Compost Giveaway

    Gardeners and yard enthusiasts who participate in the City of Wichita Falls Choose to Reuse Program can receive a FREE load of compost at the Wichita Falls Organic Facility during the Sanitation Department's Fall Compost Giveaway. The compost will be loaded for participants with a limit of one pickup truck or 4x8 trailer load per person. Participants must provide a City of Wichita Falls water bill showing the $3.00 recycling program charge. All loads must be covered. This is a state law. Sanitation employees are required to see the participants cover material before loading the compost. No dump trucks, commercial vehicles or oversized trailers will be loaded. For commercial operation compost purchases please contact the Wichita Falls Sanitation Department.

With over 50 photographs on view, this exhibit is rich in imagery, detail and color.

  8. Sally Struck "Just My Imagination" Gallery Exhibit

    Now showing in the West End Studio: Artist Sally Struck's history in quilting is apparent in her new exhibit, "Just My Imagination". These small-scale collages and mixed media pieces are informed by the precise geometry and color manipulation of patchwork quilting, as well as a joy in sewing. The exhibit is open and free to the public during all Kemp Center business hours.

Teams of no more than 6 will have 30 minutes to help Dr. Frankenstein find his creation's missing brain before the storm has passed and the assembled parts are no longer good. Teams must register in advance. Times will begin at 9:30 am, and a new group will begin every 45 minutes after that.

    The 6th Annual Wichita Falls Buddy Walk honors individuals with Down syndrome. The event will kick off with a one-mile walk around downtown Wichita Falls, followed by carnival games, food trucks, music, inflatables and fun for the entire family! The Buddy Walk is a multi-city advocacy event in which individuals with Down syndrome invite "buddies" to walk with them.
