  4. New Series of Diabetes Education Classes

    Two new series of the Diabetes Education Program will be offered from September till November. These classes are geared towards people living with the diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes. Classes begin Thursday, September 11 and will be offered at two separate times: 8:30 am-10:30 am & 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. Space is limited! Call to reserve your spot now!

  5. Memories in the Making: Every Tuesday.

    Learn how to bring the joy of creative self-expression to someone with memory loss. Memories in the Making, the Alzheimer's Association art program is for people with dementia, this is a weekly one-hour art session where the caregiver and loved one can take a moment to enjoy the creative release of watercolor painting. While loved ones work on their paintings, caregivers are there to capture any stories the art brings forward. All are welcome. No registration necessary, just drop-in. Caregiver must be present at all times.

    Join River Bend for their Critter Connection program!! See live animals up close, make your own animal tracks, listen to some fun animal stories, and look for critters on their nature trail!!   8. Process Art Experiences

    October 30, 2018, 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM @ Wichita Falls Public Library.

    Children age 5 and up are invited to join library staff in the activity room for fun arts and crafts. The focus will be on the creation of the art rather than the end product. Children will be encouraged to use their imaginations, flex their creativity, and experiment with the materials. Even though this is for older children, we will have age-appropriate activities for your toddlers to do with their grownups while their siblings create. Areas of development supported by process art fine & gross motor skills, spatial reasoning, decision making, risk-taking, and self-expression.

  12. Fall Scent Work Class

    October 30, 2018, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Obedience Training Club of Wichita Falls, Inc.

    If your dog needs to burn off some energy, give him something to do. You will learn how to teach your dog to search for a variety of scents. This is a fun activity for you and your dog. Due to the amount of time it takes to set up each run, classes are limited to 10 dogs. Please, contact Martha Davis at mdavis@riverbendnaturecenter.org to make sure the classes are still available. Martha is the Scent Work Chairman for the Obedience Training Club of Wichita Falls. Beginners class 6-7pm, Advanced has 2 Classes 7-8 pm & 8-9pm. Cost is $85- This covers the cost of training and the materials used in Scent Work Class. OTCWF is licensed to host AKC Scent Work trials.
