Did you know?

  • Rats and mice are known to spread many diseases worldwide. 
  • Many diseases do not cause any apparent illness in rodents, so you cannot determine whether a rodent is carrying a disease just by looking at it.
  • Mice can fit through a hole the width of a pencil (1/4 in or 6 mm in diameter).
  • If evidence of infestation (new droppings, urine spots, gnawing, etc.) persists after one week, you may be dealing with a rodent infestation.

The Vector/Mosquito Control Program does not perform Pest Control functions, such as mice and rat exterminating, treating private properties for mosquitoes, spraying for cockroaches, spraying for fire ants, ticks, and/or bee and wasp removal, etc. These functions are performed by professional Pest Control Operators listed in the yellow pages of the phone directory under "Pest Control Services".
